Renault announces the limited production of only 1,980 units of the 5 Turbo 3E. The new electric hot hatch is expected to be delivered in 2027.

With few changes to its design after the unveiling of its concept version, the Renault 5 Turbo 3E channels all of its traction power to the rear wheels. This mini supercar will be produced in a limited edition.

The announcement surprised fans of the lineup. The manufacturer revealed that the new electric vehicle will have two motors, one on each rear wheel, with an impressive 268 hp per motor, generating a total of 536 hp.

With a 70 kWh battery, the 5 Turbo 3E reaches a top speed of 270 km/h, going from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 3 seconds. It can travel 400 km on a full charge based on the WLTP cycle.

The Renault 5 Turbo 3E also features an 800-volt electrical system, enabling ultra-fast charging of up to 350 kW, going from 15% to 80% in just 15 minutes.

Focused on a more radical approach, the vehicle comes with a vertical handbrake lever in rally style.

The manufacturer has managed to reduce the weight of the car, compared to the Renault 5, to 1,450 kg by using carbon fiber in the body. The company said it intends to reduce the weight even further by the time of the launch.

Fans of the lineup will be able to place orders for the vehicle in the coming weeks. Although the price has not been revealed, Renault announced that it will produce only 1,980 units. The model will be sold in Europe, the Middle East, Japan, and Australia.
